House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

House of Leaves is a book that will have you questioning everything at all times, it with out a doubt is one of the most intresting, most absurd , and cunning books that I have ever read. In fact I wish I could read it all over again like it was the first time. I will say that trying to describe it in it's entirety will give you and the person you are trying to describe it to an aneurysm. So here I will try my absolute best to not lose braincells trying to give you a TLDR. This book has 3 main characters, Zampano, Johnny Truant, and Will Navidson. It right off the bat starts off with zampano being found dead in a janitor's closet, then johnny going through zampano's belongings and finding a what seems to be a draft for a documentary. This is where things as if they weren't already a little weird get weirder. The documentary is about a renowned film/photographer named will navidson; and his family moving into a new house. This house in particular is stange because weird occurances start to happen the house gets bigger and bigger almost like becoming a maze but only when you enter a specific hallway. Johnny gets a little too invested in this documentary and many parallels begin to happen at one point we even learn that Johnny was badly abused a young boy having to go through several fostercare homes. Somehow it all manages to be tied together. I don't know the aneurysm is starting, so to real conclude it is worth the read and I reccomend it to everyone because it did shake me to my core and I thought about the book for several days even after I was done reading it so I think that's something a good book should always do.

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle byHaruki Murakami

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is an ambitious novel that challenges readers to think beyond the surface. Through its rich, multi-layered narrative, it asks deep questions about the nature of reality, memory, and the human condition. While some readers may be disoriented by its nonlinear plot and ambiguous symbolism, others will find themselves drawn into Murakami’s strange and captivating world. Ultimately, Murakami’s novel is more than just a story about a missing wife or a man’s search for meaning. It’s a meditation on the mysteries that lie beneath the surface of everyday life, the hidden currents that shape our experiences, and the unknowable forces that pull us in unexpected directions. For those willing to embrace its surrealism and complexity, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is an unforgettable journey through one of modern literature’s most imaginative minds.
